It’s Time for the annual Water Garden Tour

The Greater Kansas City Water Garden Society kicks off its 29th annual tour of 5 Saturdays with the first 2 tours – July 9th in Southern Johnson County and July 23rd in Missouri, North of the river. Both tours are filled with sites never on tour before and display some unique landscape challenges, water gardens, and pond-less water features that are sure to thrill. The Turtle Crawl Water Garden Tour is a self-directed “go with the flow” kind of tour. There are surprises around every corner and plein-air artists at many sites. Whether your style is laid back and casual or a more formal look is what you are expecting, there is something for everyone.

Do not forget to attend the local contractor sponsored night garden parties. These gatherings are always a delight at the end of a tour day featuring music, light hors d’oeuvres, and romance under the stars. The July 9th garden party is sponsored by White Gardenia Landscapes in Lenexa, KS and the July 23rd Garden party is sponsored by Good Earth Water Gardens in Kansas City, MO. At both evening garden parties you have the opportunity to speak with professionals, for free, to get all your questions answered as you are mesmerized by how beautiful a water feature is after dark. $10 tickets are available at local garden centers, Hen House Markets, and select Westlake Hardware stores. See retail locations in our ad in this edition of the KC Gardener. Tickets are also available on Eventbrite or at kcwatergardens.com
